TTP Trial Run FAQ

If you have a trial run scheduled with Tease to Please Hair and Makeup or are just beginning to look into the process, you might have a few questions about what’s in store for you! We’re here to ease your mind – this experience is going to be just as relaxing as it is luxurious! Before the process even begins, your wedding day glam preferences will be used to pair you with an artist that specializes in that particular skillset.

Where is My Trial Run

Most trial runs will be at our studio in Richardson, Texas unless otherwise specified by your artist. There is parking available in front and on the side of the building, as well by our adorable and unmissable mural wall. Your artist will aim to arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled trial time, in order to set up. A trial appointment is 1 hour for one service, or 2 hours for two services. The artist will discuss with you what your overall wedding day vision is for you and your crew. This is a great opportunity to get to know your artist and for us to get to know you! We always love hearing about your love story and all the wedding details! Feel free to bring along your veil or any other wedding accessories that will help you to see the full hair/makeup look come together.

How to Book a Bridal Trial Run

Booking your trial date depends on the availability of your wedding day artist(s). Our artists typically have 2 days per week that they are available in studio to get you all glammed up! If you have a specific date or certain days of the week in mind for your trial when you first reach out, just let us know so we can consider that when pairing you with an artist. If you are using your trial run for your bridal photos, please make sure and talk with your other vendors to give us multiple dates and times to choose from. This will ensure your wedding day artist will be available for your trial as well – a pertinent factor in getting the perfect bridal glam.

During the week is the desired time for trial runs and bridals because most of our weekends are spent on-location for wedding day hair and makeup. However, some weekends are an option occasionally in the slower months or if something special needs to be arranged because time does not permit with your specific artist.

Trials are scheduled after you have booked your wedding date with us since we need to know which artist to pair you with at the trial. We work backwards starting with your wedding date, and then scheduling your trial from there!. We do recommend waiting until you are 1 to 3 months away from your wedding day, but understand if you want to book a trial run earlier. We want you to have a clear idea of your wedding day style and doing a trial run is the best way to see the vision come to life while still having time to make tweaks if need be.

How to Prepare for a Bridal Trial Run

The best way to prepare for your bridal trial run is to do research! Go on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, or The Knot – anything wedding-related to find out what styles you like! We are on all 3 platforms if you want to follow us and get ideas of specific looks we have achieved at previous weddings, for engagement pictures, etc. On the day of your bridal trial run, please make sure to arrive with a clean face and clean/dry hair!

Also, know what you are allergic to – especially if latex is on that list. There is latex in some of the glue used for false lashes, but there are also latex free options. Let your artist know any allergies or skin concerns you may have.

As a team we have trained all our artists to be able to handle any hair or makeup style that you bring to us! Please don’t feel afraid to communicate with your artist during the process of your trial, and if you are uncomfortable, let us know what you are thinking and how you are feeling! Trial runs are for this exact purpose, to find out what you do and don’t like, and we want to make sure that you are feeling confident about your special day. We want to take this time and get it right. It’s okay if you even change your mind after the trial; just know there will be a retrial free if you want to test out a new look before the wedding day. If after the trial you have changes that you’d like to make for the wedding day, then you can make a note of them and let your artist know on the day of the wedding. Our artists are capable of making these changes on the fly, so you don’t necessarily need another trial unless you just really need to see these changes before the wedding day. In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with your artist, please reach out to us via email ASAP and we will see how we can accommodate you.

Booking Your Favorite Dallas Hair and Makeup Team

Your appointments are very important to Tease to Please – it is time reserved especially for you, but we understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary. Therefore, we respectfully request at least 24 hours' notice for all cancellations. Less than 24-hour notice will result in a cancellation fee. No shows will be charged 100% of the reserved service amount.

When booking your trial please be mindful of your artist’s availability! Some of our artists work in corporate America, or in salons, etc and have limited time. We will do our best to fit you in, but the sooner you are able to get a date on the calendar for your trial, the more options we will have available for you!

If you haven’t signed your contract and paid your retainer to secure your wedding date with Tease to Please Hair and Makeup yet, reach out to us to get that taken care of ASAP. It’s important to get on the calendar ASAP as new requests pour in every day!
