Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL FAQ

Do I really need professional help with my hair and/or makeup?

When your car breaks down, you bring it to a professional- someone who works at their craft on a daily basis and continuously attends training and improving their skill. It’s the same for hair and makeup! There’s a reason celebrities have someone do their makeup for special events and photos. You will be amazed at what a difference a pro can make! Let us relieve the stress of looking your best and pamper you on your special day.

Do you only do weddings?

We can help you with any special event, not just weddings. Many clients book us for family portrait sessions, proms, maternity, corporate functions, headshots and more! Whether it’s a hair and makeup appointment at our studio, or multiple services you need us to send a team on location for, we’ve got you covered. If it is a meaningful event to you, we want to be your go-to hair and makeup artists!

How should I arrive at my appointment?

Please come with a clean, and makeup free moisturized face and clean, 100% dry hair. Hair is best blow-dried smooth to ensure a frizz free end result. If you have natural curly texture and want to enhance that in your style vs a curling iron effect, then you can come with your hair naturally curly, with leave it products that help with hold and frizz control. Have any inspiration photos ready to show your artists. You are welcome to bring your veil, earrings, or any other accessories that will help you envision your complete look!

Where do appointments take place?

All appointments including trials and bridals take place at our DFW studio location, 111 E Polk St. Richardson, TX 75081. When available, we may be able to send an artist on location for an appointment for an additional travel fee cost. *Oklahoma appointments are all on location

How long do hair and makeup services take?

All appointments and Bridal services are scheduled for 1 hour for hair and 1 hour for makeup. All other attendants are 30-40 minutes for hair and 45 minutes for makeup. We also allow for 15 minutes of setup for on location services and 15 minutes of touchups for multiple services like wedding and events.

What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments: All appointments are paid in advance and require a 24-hour cancellation. Less than a 24-hour notice will result in a charge of $100. No shows will be charged 100% of the reserved service amount. This charge will be added to your invoice. Please email us if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment! Weddings/Events: In the event of a wedding/event cancellation the $600 retainer will not be refunded. If the event is cancelled 60 days or less prior, the full balance is owed. All changes need to be made 60 days prior to your wedding day to be eligible for a refund. You are more than welcome to add on services but if someone cancels within 60 days before your wedding you must notify us to update our artist's timeline. You may replace them with someone else but there are no refunds within 60 days before your wedding day. Hair extension rentals must be added on at least 3 weeks in advance of your event. You will not be refunded for any hair extension rentals cancelled less than 60 days prior to the event.

How far in advance should clients book their services?

Sooner is always better than later! We prefer at least 1 week for non-wedding appointments but can sometimes accommodate last minute requests. The average time is about 6 months in advance for weddings/events, but we have some clients that book 12 to 16 months out. Since we have such a large team, we are happy to accommodate short notice wedding/event bookings as long as we are available.

What kind of products does your team use?

Tease to Please uses professional, camera-ready hair and makeup products. Because they are top grade, you might not always recognize the brand names since many are not available to the general public. We only use products that we know will give you a flawless look and that will last the longest. If you have sensitive skin or allergies, let us know any of your cares or concerns at the trial run or email us in advance and we are happy to accommodate your needs as best we can.

BRIDAL FAQ

Do I need to know my final headcount per service before getting in touch?

The more you know upfront, the more accurate your quote is! There is a 4-service minimum per artist to secure your date. However, once you know your final headcount, you can always add on more services as long as the timeline allows, or we have additional artists available to add to your day! *If you can’t hit the 4 service minimum, you can still book with a $100 fee added per missing service. Hair and makeup counts as 2 services.

I have a large bridal party and not much time to get ready. Can you handle it?

Absolutely. Please provide us as many details as you can when you reserve your date! Once we get your information, we will make sure we have enough artists to give you excellent results in the time you have to work with.

Can I schedule a trial before booking my wedding?

We don't offer trial runs prior to booking. Without securing your date, you have not been paired with an artist and there is no way for us to guarantee your artist(s) until you have confirmed your booking. We want to avoid scheduling you an appointment with an artist that may not still be available for your wedding date when you are ready to book as their availability books up fast.

Once you sign your contract, you will be assigned a wedding day artist based on your needs and information provided. From there, we can set up a trial with that specific artist. You are always more than welcome to put in requests for artists on your booking form or email us and we will prioritize getting you that artist if they have availability for your date.

When should I schedule my trial?

We suggest 1-3 months from your wedding date. This ensures you have nailed down your bridal vision. However, you can schedule a trial when it’s most comfortable for you! Email us with 4-5 dates and times you are available to get your appointment scheduled. *Trial Runs are booked Monday-Thursday

Will my trial or bridal portraits be scheduled with my day of artist?

Ideally yes! We always try to schedule your trial run or bridal portraits with your day of artist when possible. Our lead artists are typically in studio 1-2 days a week and their specific studio stays will be shared with you 3+months in advance with your trial/bridal prep email, or you can email to ask ahead of time when scheduling these appointments. In the event we can’t find a day that works best with both your schedule and your day of artist, we can look to reassign your day of artist to another artist who has availability for both dates or you can have another lead artist fill in for your appointment and share the notes and pictures with your day of artist. All of our artists are trained and comfortable with recreating each other’s work! This is especially helpful for bridals when you are coordinating multiple schedules between yours, the venue, the photographer, and your artists.

Can I use my bridal portrait session as my trial?

Depends on how confident you feel in your inspo! If you feel confident in the hair and makeup look you have chosen and aren’t trying something you haven’t done before, you can definitely opt to skip a trial and use your bridal portrait session as your trial. The trial is more for you than the artist as it allows you the opportunity to try on the look you have chosen! If you are feeling unsure of what you are wanting, planning on doing separate looks for bridals vs the wedding day, or wanting the flexibility of being able to make changes and adjustments at the trial without it needing to be picture perfect, then I would recommend adding the trial on in addition to bridals. It’s really up to you!

I have added extensions to my invoice. What now?

If you have added a hair extension rental to your invoice, we will color match you at your trial run or bridal portrait appointment! Please reach out prior to your appointment if you have any of the following so we can ensure we have a proper match for you at your trial.
-Hair shoulder length or shorter and are not wanting to add length
-Wanting hair longer than 20"
-Have a fashion or vibrant hair color (example: red, purple, silver)

Your artist will choose one of our high-quality human hair extensions that works best for your hair color and desired style. You will be sent home with the extensions, and you will need to bring them on your wedding day. It's best if you remove them, brush them, and store them in a ziploc bag until your wedding to ensure they don't get tangled or damaged. Please do not sleep with them in after your appointment. If your trial appointment is more than 3 months from your wedding day, your artist will remove the extensions at the end of your appointment, or you will have to return them within 1 week of your appointment due to the high demand of our rentals. You can email us to schedule a pickup time 1-3 weeks out from your wedding day to get the pair you will use for the wedding day. This is also a great option if you plan to change your hair color between the wedding day and your trial run so that we can color match you closer to your big day.
