What Your Wedding Makeup Artist Wants You to Know

There are a few common rules of thumb when it comes to skincare and makeup prep, but our wedding makeup artists have a few extra tips and tricks up their sleeves that will give you the brightest, most perfect bridal look possible! Read on for a few pertinent things your Tease to Please wedding makeup artist wants you to know before the big day.

Hydration is Key!

Clean, hydrated skin is always the best canvas for any wedding makeup look. Leading up to the wedding, focus on regimented skincare that includes a cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF every day for best results. If you want to take it a step further, see an esthetician that can customize a skin care plan for you months before your wedding to have your skin looking its absolute best on your big day! Always use products that you have used before in the weeks leading up to your wedding. The night before your special day is not the time to try out a new under eye mask or lip scrub! Stick to products you and your skin know and love so you don’t have any unwanted surprises on your wedding day.

Nourish from the Inside Out

As you near your nuptials, making sure to nourish your body is highly important. Your skin truly reflects what’s going on inside, and if you’re stressed out like many are during this season of life, your face may decide to make you pay for it. It’s easier said than done, but make sure to get plenty of rest the night before the wedding to avoid any dark circles or puffiness in the face. Ensure that you’re eating in between all that wedding planning and getting your body all the nutrients it needs. You can (almost) never drink too much water, and don’t we all love that glow from within!

Hands Off!

Try to keep the touching of your face to a minimum at all times, but especially in the weeks before  your wedding day! This can decrease the spread of bacteria and limit unwanted acne. Remember, even the most talented makeup artist can camouflage discoloration, but broken, damaged skin is impossible to truly hide. If you do have a blemish or two on your wedding day, don’t panic! Our artists will do their best to cover up the imperfections and hilight other features you want to accentuate the most. Just remember that the less you touch, the smoother their canvas will be and the easier it will be to get you looking flawless!

Come with Inspiration

As much as artists love being let loose to show off their creativity, it is your wedding at the end of the day. You will have these photos for the rest of your life, so put some thought into it! Any information is good information for our artists. Do you have any specific things that make you feel like yourself such as a bold brow or freckles showing through your makeup? Let us know! Bring screenshots of your inspiration photos with you and ask yourself what details about the photo draw you in. Pinterest inspiration is great, but don’t forget to check out our page for the most realistic inspo that can be duplicated with ease by any of our Tease to Please Hair and Makeup artists.
